Florida Personal Injury Attorney

Personal Injury. Personal Attention.

Your personal injury claim requires a partner who will fight for you. Peninsula Law Firm focuses on providing the personal, white-glove service your case deserves.

FROM THE FOUNDER

Welcome, I’m Glad You're Here

I spent the first decade of my career defending large corporations and insurance companies throughout the State of Florida. In fact, I was not only a partner at a defense firm in Miami, Florida but also worked as an in-house attorney for an insurance company in St. Petersburg, Florida. I have handled various personal injury claims across and throughout the State, from the East Coast to the West Coast, and from Key West to Pensacola.

This decade of experience sets me apart from the typical personal injury attorney. It not only exposed me to how insurance companies and large corporations view claims, but also how they evaluate claims and what is required to get the best results possible. It also exposed me to the shortfalls experienced by injured claimants who do not have proper representation. This in conjunction with being raised by a family of small business owners, beginning with my grandfather, is exactly why I decided to open Peninsula Law Firm. I wanted to provide individuals who suffered injuries because of another’s negligence the quality of service, skill, and experience that large corporations and insurance companies could afford. I wanted to represent people who were victims instead of simply helping a large company meet annual budgets.

Peninsula Law Firm is focused on providing white-glove service to our clients. Whether you are involved in a trip and fall, an automobile accident, a cruise ship accident, or some other personal injury accident, you will not simply be a file on my desk. Peninsula Law Firm was founded on the principle that our clients will be given access to the attorney handling the case that larger firms do not provide. I will provide the personal service and attention your case requires to help you recover what you deserve.

Do You Have a Valid Personal Injury Claim?

In order to have a valid personal injury claim, you must prove that the company, driver, or other person who caused your injury was negligent.

While negligence is a word just about everyone knows and uses to describe instances in which a person either acted inappropriately or failed to act in a way they were supposed to, even if accidental, it actually has specific elements that must be proven when making a legal personal injury claim.

Just because you were injured in an accident does not always mean you have a personal injury case. Every negligence claim has four elements:

  1. The party that caused the injury owed you a legal duty under Florida law
  2. The party breached that legal duty by performing a specific act or by failing to act in a particular way
  3. That party’s breach of the legal duty actually and proximately caused you to suffer an injury
  4. You suffered financial or some other form of damages

Call our office to see whether you have a case. We will review all of the facts and evidence to support your claim, uncover the potential sources of recovery, and use our professional legal skills and experience to help prove your claim.

Who Can File a Personal Injury Claim?

If you were injured in an accident, then you may have “standing” to file a personal injury claim. If so, you may have a legal right to seek compensation for your losses. You may also have standing to bring a wrongful death lawsuit if a loved one died as the result of an accident.

Even if you were somewhat at fault for the accident that caused your injuries, you may still be able to recover compensation. Florida accident laws employ what is known as comparative negligence. For example, if the other party was 80 percent to blame for your accident and you were 20 percent to blame, you can still recover compensation for up to 80 percent of the damages you are entitled to.

The good news is that you do not have to figure out this on your own. At Peninsula Law Firm, we can help you determine whether or not you are eligible to file a personal injury or wrongful death claim.

When Do You Have to File a Lawsuit?

After an accident, you are likely focused on your physical recovery and the wellbeing of your family. Hiring an attorney may not be a high priority.

However, the sooner you begin working with a personal injury attorney, the better. You have a limited time after an accident to file a personal injury claim. This time limit is called the Statute of Limitations. If you fail to file a lawsuit within this time frame, then you will not be able to seek compensation for your injuries.

When you contact our office, we will begin working on your case immediately, making sure that all statutory deadlines are met.
